Congratulations to humanitarian and band BOSTON founder, Tom Scholz for receiving PETA’s Compassionate Action Award for being a founding member of PETA and for inspiring others to extend their compassion to all living beings.
The award was presented on October 6th at an event held at Lesley University in Cambridge to a packed room of over 150 guests following a special address by PETA President and cofounder, Ingrid Newkirk. Entitled "The Naked Truth," Ms. Newkirk spoke about the animal rights movement—and how it must reach beyond pelts and "pets" to persuade people to view all animals as fellow citizens worthy of respect.
After an impassioned address by Ingrid, Tom offered a few words urging people to be not just followers, but leaders in the struggle against animal cruelty.
On behalf of PETA and music fans alike, a sincere thanks to Tom for his involvement—the animals are lucky to have such a true friend like himself!
