Sweet Connection

Stryper’s gig at the House of Blues Friday will be a family affair. That’s because Flight Patterns, the Cape Cod combo opening the show, is fronted by Michael Sweet Jr., who’s the 22-year-old son of Stryper singer Michael Sweet. (The Christian pop-metal band is celebrating its 25th anniversary.) Sweet’s been performing of late with Boston, and we’re told guitarists Tom Scholz and Gary Pihl will be taking the stage with Stryper.
