... To a fellow musician, the road is long but yet so short. You are a legend and will live on forever in your music which has long ago made it into our hearts and everyday lives. There is not one person in this world that has never hummed a boston tunes while living their everyday lives. Aslong as there is music that will be the case, our lives were made better and happier by the release of More Than A Feeling. Brilliant work throughout your life and career. Godspeed my friend. We've never met but someday we'll jam. |

... I was truly shocked. I now have two reasons to remember March 9th...one very happy reason, my son Tyler's birthday, and now this very, very sad one. Brad, I know you have hitched a ride to a place where there is a peace & happiness you could not find here. I have never looked back because you asked me not to, but now I have a reason to look back and listen to a voice all of us will unfortunately never hear live again. GOD & PEACE be with you and your GOLDEN VOICE dude...YOU WERE THE BEST!! You will definately be an asset to the singing angels!! :( |

... I want to start by sending our thoughts and prayers to you and your family for your tremendous loss. My husband and I have been huge BOSTON fans since 1976, and am proud to tell you that our love for your music has passed on to our son! Spencer is a wonderful 7 year old boy (we adopted him from Bulgaria in 2001 when he was 2) with a true love for the music of BOSTON, specifically the magical voice of Brad Delp. He often speaks of Brad as a close friend or relative! On the evening of March 9th, my husband, Spencer and I were dining at a restaurant with a juke box. Spencer was elated to see BOSTON on the juke box and immediately put $1 to play 2 BOSTON songs. About 15 minutes after his selections played, a group of teenagers played 3 or 4 songs of their choice (mainly Country - yuk!). Once one of their songs ended, the strangest things happened...BOSTON songs began playing again and the teenagers were wondering what was going on since they had not chosen that music! It wasn't until the next day that we learned the tragic news of Brad's passing. It is as if we received a special sign/treat from heaven with the mysterious playing of BOSTON. It is very important to me to make someone aware of the happiness BOSTON and Brad Delp has brought to our family. Frankly, it surprises me a little at the deep sadness we feel for someone we never even knew. He MUST have been special to touch us in that way! Thank you for being in our lives! ... I saw Boston in concert back in the late '80's, it was their first date of the tour. For years I would say that I thought I was listening to the CD, not a concert. It took many years to realize that what I had heard was much like watching a perfect game, you don't notice the greatness while it's happening, at least not at first. Boston was so on, that it was like no other concert that I have ever been too before or since. What a shame that the world has lost such a beautiful voice, and so sad his friends and family lost what would seem to be such a nice person. |

You might be gone from the physical world, but you will always be eternal in our hearts and souls. I hope you?ve finally found the peace of mind you so deserve on your final journey! ... I remember the Friday night I first heard Boston. I was in the 7th grade, spending the night with my best friend, and she had just gotten the tape. We knew all the lyrics to all the songs by the next day. It was probably my first passionate obsession with a band and its music. As soon as "Don't Look Back" hit the stores, I had it in my tape player, cruising with all the other high schoolers. I waited, impatiently, for "Third Stage" for years. I was beside myself with anticipation. By then, I was married and living in Dallas. I finally got to see Boston live at the Cotton Bowl in 1986. Dream come true. Brad, you have influenced my life and provided the soundtrack to my youth. Your talents are from God and I just hope and pray that God has allowed you to join his heavenly choir. I hope you are now at peace and I hope you know how much you were loved and how many people's lives you have impacted. To the family, my condolences and deepest sympathy. |

... I grew up in southern Ontario, I was 14 when Boston came out with their first album, It was to be the soundtrack of my teenage life. Eventually i became a musician and moved out here to Vancouver BC, Canada. I was here for about three weeks when Boston Played the coluseum in Vancouver. I will always remember Delp's first words; "Hello Vancouver, We have to do this more often!" Oh My God the sorrow i feel today. I have retired from the music scene for several years, divorced two years ago and suffering from depression, and sadly considering suicide, while i live in my beautiful house alone. I can empathize with the man on great sorrow, even when your family and friends think you have it made. Life is not like that. I cried a river this morning when i heard the news. I am about to call all of my friends and remind myself how precious Life is. Brad gave me a soundtrack to growing up and coming of age,...I will find strength in that and the joy of his voice, God help us all. |

My heart goes out to the family and band members. It was a very quick 30 years ago that I witnessed the best rock show at the Paramount theater in Portland, Oregon. Not a day that went by that I wouldnt hear a Boston song that Brad sang. Not sure what life would have been without hearing Brad's voice all of these years. I will celebrate Brad's life by cranking up the stereo so the whole neigborhood will hear him!!! |

He was always seriosu about the music and that made an impression on me. However Brad Delp's voice was Boston's key to success as well. Brad will be sorely missed and its ashame as I was hoping for this generation of rock nroll fans to experience one of rock's greatest bands. R.I.P. Brad Domenic Vitanza Cleveland,Ohio USA |

... First of all I would like to offer my condolences to the Family of Mr. Brad Delp. I know that his family, friend, fans and Band Members will miss his wonderful presence in their lives. But I am sure his is now at peace and in a far better place than those he left behind. I was introduced to the band Boston in 1973. I got my first recording on 8 Track tape. I received this tape while I was sick with Double Lung pneumonia at age 12. My dad had asked me if there was anything he could get me while I was confined to bed for weeks. I said, "I heard about this new band and heard the song "More Than a Feeling" on the radio and asked him if he would get me an 8 track tape of the album. During the next few weeks I played that 8 track tape over and over and memorized every song. That was it. I was hooked on Brad Delp's vocals and Tom Scholz's incredible guitar playing. I continued my recovery during that time and I credit listening to that album for helping bringing me back to good health. Since then I have bought every album the second I could get my hands on it, and went to every concert tour when they played in my home town. I've turned on countless individuals to their music, who like me became true die hard fans of the band. I will refuse to listen to anyone who thinks that Boston was a band for an ERA filled with bad times like Watergate, the Oil Crisis and the Hostage Crisis. These individuals and you know who you are, should be thankful that a band like Boston emerged out of that ERA and created some of the best Rock-n-Roll the world will ever know. Also, I hope everyone does not speculate why Brad did what he did. First of all it is none of our business, although we are left with the question Why? Second of all when a tragedy like this occurs it is the privacy of the family to know and any media who writes, speculates or rumors about it is just being irresponsible. Lastly, to his daughter Jenna, his son Michael, and his fiance, Pamela Sullivan. I grieve with you during this tragic time where the world has lost a great Human Being. I will be praying for all of you. I am sure that Brad would not want you to be sad for long. Celebrate his life and his great achievements. Hold his memory close to your hearts and remember the good times you had the privilege to share with him. He may be physically gone from this world, but his spirit will live on forever. When you close your eyes think about him up on stage performing in front of his many world-wide fans. I believe that gave him more pleasure than anything. As for me I will continue to remember him as a great rock-n-roller. If I close my eyes right now I can see him vividly, and I can even hear him singing. BOSTON Forever!!!! Sincerely, Evan S. Antonoff |

... I met Brad and the Band in the 70's in Providence RI. At 18 yrs old I worked for my Brother's bussiness "Concerts Unlimited" In Security. I protected the Band and their eqipment. I spent sometime with the Band. It was an unbelieveable experience. I could never get it out of my mind... What stuck out the most to me as a young man (Who was suppose to be working ) was Brad kindness and gentleness,Not to mention total committment to the fans ..I remember a young girl crying in front of the stage where I was situated. Brad asked me to find out what was up..She was screaming and cheering yet crying..Seems her best friend was also a huge fan.( who wasn't ) and couldn't come. Brad invited them back stage for a greet the Band deal ..They were Beaming ! She called me later that week to say it was the biggest thing in her life..Wow! Is all I can say to you Brad ..Thanks for those great mememories. You were awesome and I only wished everyone could have met you..Your one of a trillion biggest fans ! David |

... In my 18 years as an Announcer, I?ve interviewed hundreds of musicians. I end up basing my stories not only on the success and achievements of the musician, but how they treated me and how they interacted with fans backstage. Boston played the Mark of the Quad Cities in Moline, Illinois July 16, 2003. I had done a phone interview with Brad and after our interview he made sure that I had front row seats to the show and backstage passes for my cousin and myself. After the show wrapped up we went backstage where I finally got to meet Brad. He was the same nice, sincere man I?d interviewed days before. When he said it was nice to meet me, I really felt that he meant it. Brad?s star power didn?t overwhelm me like his good nature and kind manner did. I left with the same impression I had gotten from Brad on the phone, just a normal, working, blue collar man with gold in his heart and music in his soul. I will always cherish our meeting, my press pass and autographed ticket I display on the wall in my home studio. Thank you Brad for all the great memories. God bless you, your friends and your family and ?Enjoy Your Peace of Mind? |

As I sit back and listen to the songs of my youth there are always the ones that sweep you back to your first experiences that first kiss, your first date, your first car, and love ,and with all the firsts there was always one constant in my life was the band Boston. Boston was there for it all and the voice of brad delp. As a teen I could not afford to see Boston but in my forty?s I was lucky to have a chance in Toronto in 2005. Now over the years I have seen some of the best bands in the world but when Boston played I could not sing along as I had this lump in my throat and tears in my eyes as they swept me back to my first times and brad delps voice was there for them all. ... A couple days after I found out I was pregnant with my first child, the summer of 1995, my husband and I went to the Boston concert in La Crosse, WI. A radio station there had a game wheel out in front of the building where we were waiting to get in, and in a very uncharacteristic move (I'm pretty shy), I spun that wheel and I'll be damned if I didn't land on the single tag that said "2 Backstage Passes." The radio guy and I looked at each other, and I let out a whoop; the crowd watching started clapping and hollering along with us. We met everyone except Tom (who was recovering from some injury to his leg or foot at the time) immediately after the show, which was smokin' HOT!! The crowd was wild, and the guys told us they were blown away by our enthusiasm and fed off our energy. When I got to speak to Brad, I was so nervous and excited I was about to pass out, but I managed to stutter out that their "Boston" album was the first record I ever bought, and that it was my favorite of all time, he said, "You must have been pretty young!" (I was 12.) He grabbed me in a big hug, and it was one of the best moments of my life. I was touched and honored, and cried all the way home. My kids are tired of my telling them about my "Brad Delp moment," but I will treasure it the rest of my life. Rest in peace, kind man; you will live on our hearts forever. |

... I was very shocked to hear of Brad's death on Friday, and now today I finally hear how he died, which saddens me even more. This tells of a great man who reached many people in a positive way through his voice but perhaps he was unaware of just how much. If we could just turn back time and let him know we all care, I might not be writing this because of his death but rather directly to him. I would have to say that even today my favorite song is 'More Than A Felling' and everytime I hear his voice I hope he knows 'I Had A Really Good Time', and he will always be remembered for his greatness throughout. When my only brother passed in the same way 7 years ago, I put in my Boston tape the day I found out. Gonna Hitch A Ride was the song I memorialized to him that day....it gave me the "peace of mind" I needed to cope with it in a positive way. My heart goes out to his family. May they find that same Peace of Mind. This marks a truly sad day to an era long gone. |
