Talk about a nice guy... when I was in highschool, My friends & I went to see Boston and waited in line for 6 hours. We sent a telegram to Brad after the show at his hotel to tell him the show was awesome and worth the 6 hour wait. The next day, he sent us a dozen roses to THANK US! The note said - "Glad you liked the show and thanks for being so loyal" - What a great guy... what a huge loss.

Listen, I am 47 today but I can relate this story of my young good looking life when I had a hot date with Steffi Wolff who I met in Maui over Christmas vacation who then lived in Pali, Palisades in Santa Monica. We went cruising in my Mercury Marauder a cruiser fom the 60's with an 8 track tape player, remember those, at the time when Boston released way back when, was one of the lucky F*&$ who happened to buy the music I think at Tower and cruise with one of the hottest blondes in California at the time, convertible style.
You can't thank someone without meeting them so I want to tell everyone to appreciate the music left behind - tell everyone reading this that the memory of being that cool with the tunes of the album playing while cruising Sunset Blvd in the summertime with a blond girl that everyone wanted will never go away as long as I live, that arm in arm lip to lip overlooking the surf on the bluff with Boston playing, your memory will live on Brad is all I can say!

We are all connected through the music that is part of our lives.
The time we have on this earth is woven with experiences, emotions and the music that accompanies that time. When the special people that bring us that music leave us, even though we have never met them, we may feel as though we have lost a friend. In this sense, Brad Delp and his music was part of many lives. We can be thankful for the man that brought us that music and those memories, but at the same time we will grieve for the loss of our past. When we listen again to the music that Brad gave us, we will realize that it really is "more than a feeling".

Brad Delp was, in every sense of the word, "a true Rock Star" of the highest order. As a kid of 15 in the seventies, my older brother introduced me to the music of BOSTON -- my life forever changed at that moment. Brad -- good luck "On the other side"! We're going to miss you!

My husband is one of the biggest Boston fans ever. To him Brad Delp was GOD. We got the pleasure of meeting Brad backstage in Kansas City on July 19, 2003, our wedding day. He was truely one of the nicest people I have ever met. My husband has been working on a Boston tribute band for about six months now, he is one of those few that you talk about taht can hit those wonderfully high notes. It will mean more now than ever when he performs those songs.

Tragedy. And a life loss for all of us. The first album I ever had was Boston's timeless opening act. "Smokin'" played at full volume all through high school; "Peace of Mind" did just that during college finals week; "Hitch A Ride" remains an all-time favorite showcase of Brad's incomparable voice and Tom's epic strings. The band has been an inspiration nearly my entire life, and Brad one of my heroes. I was fortunate to have seen Boston twice in one year as a kid, and only recently as a dad. Unforgettable. Brad Delp was indeed the voice of rock and roll. Turn it up, everyone, and play him loud. Cheers, Brad, and God bless.

I only had a few albums back in '77; Steppenwolf's greatest hits, Pink Floyd dark side of the moon and Boston's debut album. If anyone asked me yesterday who my favorite band was, the response was immediate. At 46, I actually picked up a guitar last month after a 30 year hiatus and one of the first songs I started working on was "More than a feeling". My 12 year old recently became a Boston fan and is constantly asking to play Boston in the car - the CD is always in the slot. I must admit to a little bit of welling of the eye's, perhaps because it closes an era for me and is a reminder of my own mortallity. I was at that '79 Boston tour concert as well. Known as a "studio band" I remember being shocked at how great they were in concert, but still remember being on the arena floor watching the group that I realize today defined my coming of age.

I'm devastated...how many of us remember key crossroads in our lives everytime we hear Boston play...my first sex, my fist buzz, my first rock concert, my first 8 track tape, headphones let me drift away to times I miss and remember...the tones strike a chord in my heart that even my wife cannot understand..Why am I in tears ? I never even meet the man...powerful stufff. I'm a guitar player of 40 yrs. Boston was THE guitar sound of the 70's, and the unimmitatable voice, that not even his chosen stage helpers couls emmulate, he'd joke on stage that he had a helper cause he couldn't hit the high notes any more....ya right...everything the man did turned to gold !!! A humanitarian, Rock god, and all around " GOOD GUY" Has left us....Turn your kids on to BOSTON today....they will be changed for it !!! RIP brother.....BD

My brother played me the Boston album in 1976 or 1977. I still haven't heard any production to beat it. As I type, I'm listening to Long Time for the millionth time, and it still sounds fantastic. I took up the guitar because of this band, and vocally always listen to this album to remind myself that harmonies like Brad's are possible; but they willbe so sorely missed. What a sad day. I had the good fortune of meeting Brad Delp outside the Erwin Center in Austin, TX in 1987, after they played a spectacular show. Definitely the nicest guy in music. He showed me pictures of his kids. I was so impressed that he took that time, that late at night, after a long show, to have a short little conversation with me.

the late 70's gave us some of the top rock bands that are still here today including aerosmith in 77 along with boston and they both had their own style and 30 years later their music lives on as will brad delp one of the best vocals to ever rock the airwaves..i just wish boston would have made more albums then those 3 classics ..but every song on every album has been on the airwaves ...what band can say that....without brad delp there is no boston...boston died when brad delp died... tom schultz was a genious with the creation of the boston sound but it was brad delps vocals that gave boston its charisma and heart and soul..... as far as i am concerned he was BOSTON and now he is gone but he will live on for 30 more years everytime we hear "more then a feeling" or " hitching a ride" or "long time" and it will be a long time before another band comes close to what Boston gave to the world.... "Walk on" brad Delp.....

I was fortunate enough to meet Brad on October 22, 1987 when the band drove up to the LSU Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, LA. to do a sound check before the show. I was a freshman in college and Boston was and still is my favorite band. He was so nice. He shook our hands, signed autographs and talked with us for about 5-6 minutes. I will never forget that day. am lost. I have followed Brad Delp from the inception of Boston, through RTZ and Orion the Hunter and back to Boston. The man that I thought would sing at his own funeral...stratospheric vocals that would rise to any occassion despite his concert jokes about age verses voice. I met Brad several times and had the benefit of a front row concert several times. He was always friendly and full of life. More importantly, he didn't subscribe to the notoriously raunchy rock and roll lifestyle despite his mega success. I am firmly ensconced in the belief that today marked the end of the greatest voice in rock and roll. Brad, this is a reluctant, tearful goodbye...you will never know how much you have impacted my life. With much sorrow and MANY TEARS, I thank you, Melissa Majors in Pensacola, Florida

Very little of the music that has come out in the last ten years has any chance of being remembered in the next ten or beyond. At the risk of sounding like a 39 year "old man", they just don't make it like they used to. Brad, Tom and the rest of Boston were just plain talented, and that is why their music is still with us today. I was lucky to see Boston twice and I saw Brad sing with Sir George Martin at the Hollywood Bowl in a Beatles tribute show. He was one of the greatest voices in rock and he will be missed.

I play the Violin myself, and have always loved their music. Waaaaaaaaaahhhh!!! I want my Boston!!!

What a sad day in the rock and roll world. I think Boston is one of the greatest bands in the history of rock and roll. Godspeed Brad.
