I remember doing an airband to Foreplay/Longtime in high school. It was so cool. Boston made music that endures which is the greatest thing you can say about it. I can listen to the music night and day and never get tired of it. I had an old car in high school and a tpe of Boston/Boston got stuck inside and played continually for a couple years. I never once tried to remove it, it was exactly what i wanted to listen to day after day.

Dear family and friends of Brad Delp: I was 11 years old when the self titled "Boston" came out. There has never been another group in which i have logged so many hours listening to. I bought every album, stood in line for hours to get a ticket when they came to Vancouver BC. Even today, when I feel like I just want to touch yesterday, - Brad's voice, the lyrics, the , guitars, the melody...it just takes me back...

I looked out this morning and the sun was gone,
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away...

I thought that that song was made for me, but maybe you were writing this song in advance. Thank you Brad & all who made up Boston for the memories...

May God bless you Brad

I was really surprised and saddened to hear about Brad's death. When my husband and I first started dating, he let me listen to his classic rock cd's. I immediately fell in love with Boston. Their music will always have special meaning for me. My heart goes out to Brad's family, friends, and the other band members who will never have the chance to be a part of the sound that is Boston again. I truely hope that Brad has found the peace that he was seeking.

I am crushed to like the rest of you. Only now learning recently that he WAS the nicest guy in rock & roll. What a great photo of him on this & Barry's site.
I hope to learn of the public memorial service in time to make arragments to drive up or take the Amtrack. Now I am ticked that no one close to him saw any signs of suicide. Some people can hide it I guess.
Thanks for reading.

My condolences and prayers to all of Mr. Delps family and friends. His music was a huge sound for me during my school days and still remains a favorite in my collection. If I may share, on my daughters 9th birthday, March 12, we surprised her with an ipod shuffle. The next day I uploaded many of her "kids" music. A couple of days past and while she was enjoying her music she said, "Dad, one of your songs is on my ipod." I knew that there was no way I could have mistakenly transfered my music files from her computer. I have CD's and albums of Boston but nothing converted to mp3 format. I put the headphones to my ears and "More than a feeling" was playing. After the initial shock and surprise, I appologized to Alexa for the song being there. She said, "it's okay, I like it." Another fan added in the shadows of a tradgic loss. God bless you all.

Having experienced recent loss my heart goes out to the family and friends of Brad. Depression is a sad and serious disease and may not always be treatable here on earth. I beleive that Brad and others who have passed feel that pain no more. As for the people left here on earth we should try to celebrate and embrace our positive memories and consiously move forward in becoming better people with the time that we have left.

So sorry to hear of the terrible news. I pray that all those who loved Brad will be comforted during this tough time.

I grew up with Boston's music. The melodic guitar riffs from Tom and the angelic harmonies of Brad produced music that was very very special. The sound and the words touched my very soul and I was inspired by their magic and talent.

God bless you all,

Brads voice, and the music of Boston, was part of the soundtrack of high school and my early twenties. In the years since, my tastes in music had changed and it had been years since I'd really given "Boston" or "Don't Look Back" a good listen. Well, in the last two weeks, those are about all I've listened to, and in addition to rediscovering some really special music, many memories and waves of emotion have gone along with that.

Probably no one but Brad will ever know why he made the choice he did and I hope he is at peace now. For my part, I'll be forever grateful for the memories and emotions in my life that Brad was a part of. I wish Pamela, and Brad's family, comfort as they heal.

Dear Family and Friends of Mr. Delp: I am deeply shaken by your loss. With Mr. Delp passing I can see his shinning face and the joy of The Music that I knew when I first heard the most fantastic sounds. As a pharmacist, I understand his difficulty and the sorrow that follows. Depression will strike anyone at anytime. The only salvation is the caring heart of someone who wishes to help capture a soul in dispair. Each of us has friends that we can turn to. Sometimes, we are afraid to burden them. The burden of a lost soul is greater than the shoulder that it cries upon. My wish to all who read this, please share yourself with someone, anyone. There are plenty available just open your eyes. To the Delp family, your sorrow may seem unfathomable. It is palpable and your souls are welcome. With your sorrow divided, your dispair can be understood and treated. G-d bless all of you. Mr. Delp, you will be missed.

Brad - Vous savez maintenant que vous n'ętes pas seul.
In a word, I wish that he had known that any of his millions of fans, self included, would have given him anything of ourselves, time to talk, whatever he needed, money, you name it. If I had just one opportunity to say, "what may I give back to you, Brad" I would. Instead of us asking what they can do for us, I hope the Boston Band members know we would give whatever they asked of us! The most cherished memories of my life were with them and my best friend! Their music touches my soul and motivates me every time I need a lift. 43 and still listening like the songs were just written. All our Love to all the members! I am certain that Brad is in Peace and has what he needs now.

I will always rememember the original line-up of Boston, and them being, for many years, my favorite group. Bostons debut album was perfect in every way. Brad Delp's vocals were an important part of the Boston sound, and one that were easily recognizable and enjoyable. I only had the opportunity to see Boston live twice, but was thrilled and impressed both times. I took my wife with me, when we were dating, to Jones Beach, and turned on to the so many more songs than just those from their debut album. Boston, to me, never reached the respect or plateau they deserved. It is a shame that at the time of Brad's death we pause to remember how great their debut album was, and how much more respect they should have received. Like Styx w/o Dennis, and Journey w/o Steve, Boston will never be the same. Thank you, Brad.

I have been mourning and moping ever since the news about Brad. I am 49 years old and it is so sad that none was there for Brad. I am completely sure that Brad did not have to die in vain. I read that his fiance stated that he had been in a state of deppression for some time. Why? Why? Why is this all we will ever know? My heart is unsettled as are millions of other Brad Delp and Boston Fans! I truly believe with all my heart, we have a right to know what happened to bring on Brads desire to take his own life! Was it clinical depression? Was he on medication for his problem? What the hell happened. He had to know that millions of us thrived on what he gave to us and to the world of music. Have you listened to some of his own material through RTZ? Brad was a brilliant songwriter and a true himanitarian. I am mad as hell and hope that we get some more of an explaination than what we have been given. That is not enough for me and countless others. I try to find some relief listening to the music he left behind but its not enough. Brad did not have to die in the way that he did. I will never be able to accept the fact that he went to great lengths to take his own life. Rest in peace Brad. Long live the voice you gave us and the love you left behind in all of us that you touched. I hope that someof the new material Brad and the Boys were practicing for their cancelled summer tour will find its way to the fans that have been impatiently waing for a new Boston album to emerge. Long live Boston. I hope that you will somehow find a way to carry on. I believe Brad would have wanted that. Les in Cleveland, Ohio

I was listening to my mother's Everly Brothers and my father's Kingston Trio albums up until age 10 when my cousin played "More Than A Feeling" for me. I will never forget that moment, it was like an epiphany! That first Boston album is a complete masterpiece and I wore out 2 of them. I would give up all of my cds to keep that one.

Brad's voice was so perfect that it didn't even sound real at times. It is a huge loss for the music world, but an incredible addition to Heaven's choir.

Thank you so much, Brad for all of the joy you brought to so many music fans. I'm listening to you right now.

Boston's "Don't look back", was my twins and my first album that we ever got. I remember that we both pitched in to buy it. We played it all the time. As I got older I learned to appreciate music more for what it was. I realised that Tommy Scholz was one of the greatest guitar players in the world, if not the best because he was responsible for todays sound. I love the guitar but love vocals more and know that singers like Brad Delp are the reason why I was so interest in studing voice education in my college years. Brad's voice had the best range and was beautiful, emotional, precise, intensional, and even angelic. I know he will be missed by his public, but my condolences go out to his wife, family, band members, and friends! He will truely be missed!

I am 31 years old, too young to have seen or remember Boston when they first came out. Still, sooner or later music that great was bound to find me and when it did, I was hooked. I think Tom Scholz is a musical genius- my wife and I heard him play at the Carrington Pavillion in Danville, Va. in '04. When you really admire someone, neither yourself or others can ever cheer loud enough to satisfy you. You want the ones you admire (Boston) to hear how impressed you are and how much their music means to you. I was mad at myself and the crowd for what I perceived to be not letting Tom, Brad and the others know just how much we loved what they were doing. I think the same thing can and apparently did happen in day to day life for Brad Delp. Apparently it never reached him deep down just how much he was loved

One thing no one escapes is pain in this life. How we move past the pain is determined by the strength we have drawn from our life's experiences. Myself, I have witnessed the death of my father in a fire that consumed my family home; I have been shot at by a police officer who subsequently was fired and sent to prison; I have been robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of a hotel at noon on a sunny day; I have had a parachute malfunction and plummeted towards the earth, only to be spared by the grace of my reserve parachute; I have been in a car accident that totaled my vehicle and nearly killed my sister; I came close to drowning off the coast of Acapulco, Mexico and my heart has been broken from lost love....but...it is all ok because it has taught me that everything has a purpose. And in my youth [I am now 47 years old], I hung onto every word of my musical idols with a vigor as if they were my very breath - with Boston, Pete Townshend and Van Morrison leading the pack. I had an opportunity to see Boston in concert in Greensborough, NC around 1978 and did not go. I always regretted that and even more so now. Yet it is ok, as it is ok that I will surely face more pain in my life. For when the time arises that something crosses my path and I do not understand why, I will always have the lyrics and angelic voice of Brad Delp to assure me that I never was and never will be alone because music is a universal thread that builds peace, love and understanding. Brad Delp inspired me and I feel his kindness as I type. Bless your soul Brad, you were too kind for this world and your time to go to a higher level arrived. I understand. LJU,Jr.

...a true artist's life is one of giving....giving...and giving....to pour one's heart and soul into their art...their music. When we listen, view or are moved by an artist...emotionally...we are touched and changed in some way. Brad moved me...everytime I heard his voice...to feelings of that special friend...moment in time...or lost emotion, both of love and sadness. I know, I've been through the muscis scene from the late '60s to today as a rock and blues guitarist. You give so much as an artist....and sometimes it becomes too much...and you let it slip away.

Music is a part of our life. No matter what age you are, music follows us throughout our life. I'm 44 now, and there is not a day that goes by that I don?t here a song on the radio that some how touched my life. Like most of the comments, Brad's inspirational voice comforted me through some trying times in my life. I lost some important people in my life as a teenager, and by the age of twenty both my parents were gone. I can tell you that music carried me through some difficult times in my life. I am married and have two beautiful girls, and I have influenced their lives through the music that I grew up with. Today, they tell me to turn down my music, especially the first Boston album. I tell them one day they will look back on their music and how it influenced their lives. It saddens me the lost we all share with Brad?s passing. I will never forget what he gave me without ever knowing it. My favorite Boston lyrics are from Peace of Mind, I am sure that Brad has that now.

?I understand about indecision
But I don?t care if I get behind
People livin in competition
All I want is to have my peace of mind?

I too was a lonely soul, but your music wrapped around me and lifted me like nothing else could. I wish we could have done the same for Brad....if we had only known, I can't help but think that hundreds of fans would have come and kept you company Brad, just to comfort you and lift you up as you had done for us so many times. Greatly saddened by his death. Brad has one most enduring voices in rock. What a beautiful soul as well. Thanks Brad. You will be missed.

WOW, what a loss. I grew up listening to and living to Boston. They were mainstay in my life and my friends' lives. Now at 45 I still listen to their cd's all the time.....Saw them for my very first time in KC at Sandstone....in 2004. It was awesome, I even got to meet Brad. So kind, autographed my cd cover. We spoke of a common love of animals, he was so cool and it didn't matter to him that he didn't know me from squat. Saw them again 2 years ago in Wichita; AWESOME again. He will be missed, you cannot replace that voice. Walk On Brad.

A Beautiful Place -

When the first Boston albumn came out I about 18 years old. I was fully into to Skateboarding and Music.

When I heard Brad singing on that first albumn it really changed my life. I would harmonize with him (I thought perfectly) all the way up to the highest notes, at which point I would conceed that he was not of this earth.

That music set me free. The Boston sound and Brad's singing inspired me to imagine myself doing anything. I used to sit in my car and sing with Brad and at the moment our voices became one (with my preceived perfect pitch), my world was no longer made of concrete and blacktop but of a pure life force energy that transended space and time.

He took me to another place, a more beautiful place than I had ever been before.

You will always be remembered Brad,

Well, where to start Brad...I was eleven, 19 years ago. My sister had just won a dance off at a Bar Mitzvah. As a prize she received a Boston Third Stage tape. She brought it home and as I would soon learn it would become my all time favorite band, tape and 'Amanda' my favorite song. I have collected all the cd's up to date, I have two albums on record, a single on tape, an
