| It was the fall of 79' in the back seat of a friends 79' ford mustang. Tim popped in a tape and in seconds, I heard the most incredible voice, along with perfect harmony. I asked, who is this? One word "BOSTON" and I have been a fan ever since. my prayers are with his girlfriend and the band! | |

| I was a Boston fan when I was in my teens, even though they weren't releasing much music at the time, and most of my peers were listening to Duran Duran and Culture Club. Brad's voice has never before and never will be, matched by any other. I "introduced" my daughter to the music of Boston several years ago. It's funny, because she's 12 and she plays "More Than A Feeling" over and over again on the CD player. She has said "I can't believe a man can sing that high." Even she knows great music when she hears it. I was privileged enough to see Boston in 2003 in Raleigh, NC for the Corporate America tour. We had great seats, and I can still remember Brad's face. He was smiling so big, clapping, and just seemed to be having a great time responding to the fans. I'll never forget it, and I'll never forget Brad Delp. The world has lost a great man who touched the hearts of many people. He truly made a difference. | |

I was there in '78 or '79 (getting too old to remember) at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center, for the best show of my life. I'll never forget the huge pipe organs coming from the stage with all the fog (or was it the dope) smoke. It was the best show of my life. For some reason, the original t-shirt don't fit, but the music always will. Loyd King |

And I hope I never forget the power of that night. I will Miss the voice of Boston. ( Thanks for alot of memories Brad. You will be missed. I hope you are singing in heaven as I write this. And Tom. | The first Boston album was released during my freshman year in high school... it was one of the "soundtracks" of my high school years... laying on the floor with the headphones on,....cruising Saturday night with "More Than a Feeling" cranking on the radio... what great memories.... such outstanding songwriting, musicianship, and engineering. Truly inspirational benchmarks for those like me who grew up and became musicians. Brads soaring vocals truly take one to another place.... I just know Brad is teaching some angels how to sing harmony right now. :)

I remember listening to "Boston" when I was in Jr. High and falling in love with the sound..the guitars and Brad Delp's voice. Over the years, as so many bands came and went, some good, most bad, I couldn't help but compare them to Boston. Waited in line for a day and a half to buy tickets to "Third Stage" (I still remember the date..August 30, 1987)only to be told when they opened the booth that it would be a lottery..I was mad. I still got 20th row, it was the best concert I've been to. In the early 90s, when I heard that a new Boston Album was coming out.I was almost as impressed with "Walk On" as "Boston"(but not quite.:)When I learned of Brad's passing, I was hurt and sad. I've never been sad when a famous person or celebrity died..something was different, though, with Brad. I think its because I grew up listening to him and many of his songs were so personal..no filthy lyrics or chest thumping performances..I was always and will continue to be inspired by Boston's music. |

I can't believe I only just learned of Brad's passing today. I am saddened beyond words. I have been a Boston fan since I was in high school. I remember being in California five years ago and seeing a copy of Corporate America and instantly wanting to purchase the CD because I had not seen or heard of a new Boston Album since the release of the Greatest Hits album. I was so amazed at the same great sound I heard and the song "You Gave Up On Love" had a strong personal connection to a very difficult time in my life. I was never fortunate enough to see the band in concert and now that option is bascially non-existant. My heart goes out to Brad's family and friends as well as to all of the Boston fans. What a tragic loss. |

I just found out today about Bard's passing. I surely have not been listening to the rock stations in recent months. This has me choked up. Boston has been one of my favourite bands since I was a kid. I was very fortunate to see the on the tours through Toronto in recent history. Like all the rest of the fans, I agree he had a remarkable voice. Even in his later years when he claimed his voice wasn't what it used to be, he didn't do himself justice. He still had an awesome voice. God Bless you Brad!! Rest in peace. |

The chorus to Hitch a Ride so poetically describes Brad Delp's final act that it´s hard to believe it was actually Scholz who wrote it. Then again, Scholz says that their creatice connection was so tight it was as if they were connected by a cable. He must be right. The band was a prototype, and Delp's voice an icon. Timeless. |

I agree with you that not only was this loss hard to deal with, at the same time it just does'nt make any sense that Brad would kill himself in such a bizaare way. If you listen to Brad's last interview with the DJ Parker Springfield, I feel most people would be struck by the fact that he seemed very chipper and upbeat. Realizing that nothing will bring Brad back, I think a lot of people would really like a better explanation of the events surrounding his demise. There seems to be a missing piece to the puzzle burried behind the scenes and the general public may never really find out. Brads suicide very well might have been equally as shocking to those closer to him. Anyway his heart and soul that came through in his singing will never be forgotten by me. He will be sorely missed. |

| I remember the first time I ever heard a Boston song...More Than A Feeling. I was thirteen, riding in my mother's car and by the end of that soulful anthem I was begging her to go to a record store so I could get that album. I've still got that scratched up, worn-down symbol of my teenhood next to all of the other Boston memorabilia I've amassed over the years. Of course, like the thousands and thousands of people out there, to hear of Brad Delp's passing, to experience the shock of this iconic figure's disappearance from our lives is heartwrenching, desolate, and so, so painful. He and the band were like family to us because we included them in our daily lives. I even met(and hugged!!!) Brad at the Boston Third Stage tour in 1986. I'm gonna miss his voice, his gift to us. My heart goes out so much so to Tom Scholz, to Brad's family, and to all who were so close to him. The world will never be the same without him. | |

It's just not fair. Why do the best leave us so young? Boston made the 70's for me, and will remain my favourites for ever. My mate Bobo and me travelled to Bingley Hall Stafford in the late 70's to witness my third,(and by far the greatest ever), gig. seen some of the greats since then, but Brad and Boston will stay in my memories for ever. Read the news today in Classic Rock magazine and went home immediately to listen to my favourite tracks. You'll be sadly missed by many fans in the UK. My heart felt sympathy goes to his family and friends. Tom, try to ignore the bull shi**ters who'll always try to blame someone. Shit happens, but it happens for a reason. For years i have listened to Boston's music and no other vocalist comes close to the spine tingling, emotion evoking, soaring power of Brad's voice. I must have listened to "More than a feeling" thousands of times but when he hits the high notes in the final chorus it never fails to make all the hairs stand up on my neck and make me either laugh or shed a tear. Nobody else has ever made this happen to me. Thanks Brad, my only regret is that i never managed to thank you while you were alive. My thoughts go out to the rest of the Band and Brad's family. |

I sent a sizable comment to digg.com.oncerning the contibutions of Brad and Boston personally and musically. It's the largest statement on the page and begins w/ apologies for that. Suffice to say that I hope Tom Schulz doesn't dwell on the aspect of human nature that insists on making a scandal of a sorrowful event. Those who matter know he loved Brad. In every aspect of life there are conflicts, particularly concerning projects we are passionate about but that sometimes increases a bond between people if their friendship survives it. It is obvious to me that theirs had considering they still tour (which is hugely testing in itself). A simple thank you to Boston for allowing Brad to be the voice of which such wonderful messages were delivered to me when I needed them most. I heed these words now more than ever. Brian Wier |

I guess my husband and I have been living with our heads in the sand - we just heard about Brad's passing last night. My brother introduced me to Boston's music - I must have been 12. I would sneak into his bedroom to get his Boston album and then sneak it back after I had a chance to listen to it a few times. I did finally buy my own. My husband and I saw Boston in Dallas a few years ago. That concert was by far one of the best either of us ever remembered experiencing and we were both looking forward to them touring again somewhere near by. As many other folks have expressed, every one of the songs from that first album will begin to play and instantly transport me back to the 1970s. A part of each of us has passed with Brad. I hope wherever he is, he has found the peace that eluded him in life. |

My brother and I were ardent fans of all rock bands, as long as they were British, until we bought the Boston album (from a shop !!!!), and heard that amazing production and power, and Brad's soaring voice. It is an absolutely perfect work of art. And although we wore that record out, now in our forties, we still like to have a few drinks, put it on, turn it up, and listen to 'Long Time'. Most bands will never produce anything like that masterpiece in a lifetime of toil. Well done Brad.

To Brad's family and friends, my heart breaks fo you. I'd like, no NEED, to share something that happened last year. My friend and lover of over 30 years hung himself in August 2006. This time we couldn't love him back to life. On the way back from visiting his grave for the first time, "Gonna Hitch a Ride" came on the radio and something deep inside told me to REALLY REALLY listen to the lyrics this time. Waves of emotions rushed over me as I heard these words and I knew that Brad's voice and Tom's lyrics were what I needed to hear. "Gonna sail away/sun lights another day/freedom from my mind/carry me away for the last time." When I heard that Brad had also taken his life, I was so sad and no one around me seemed to understand who the world had lost. Then I found this web site! God bless all of you for grieving together and God bless Brad's lovely girlfriend, family and friends for sharing their grief with us. Kathy |

I can understand how life at times can get us all down, but there is always, always hope for a brighter tomorrow.. To Tom Shultz my deepest thoughts go with you.. You have to be strong for all who Love so much your music and cherish the wonderful songs that brighten up our lives as we listen so often on the radio, even today.. Please be strong for Boston.. For your fans who LOVE BOSTON.. Don't quit, never give up.. LOOK UP AND ABOVE... WILL always pray for the group and Brad's family.. Glenn from Memphis... |

To the members of Boston, Thank you so much for the awesome memories of your music playing on the stereo. I been a fan since I was six , and totally remember cruising the beach in Fl. with my Dad and all his buddies in there old cars with Boston playing out the old 8 track. Even today you are still my Band, you just do not get any better than BOSTON. Brad you will be missed and my condolences to the rest of the band. |

| Without Tom Scholz, there would be no Boston. Without Brad Delp, there would be no Boston. I read where Tom said his songs were just guitar licks until Brad brought them to life. I am so glad these 2 rare talents met and brought this magic to us, the fans. It is not Tom's or anyone elses fault for the choice Brad made. Thank you Tom, Brad and all members of Boston past and present for many years of pleasure in listening to your music. Please Tom, try to find a way to continue making the magic! Thanks, Kelly | |
