Though I never got to see Boston live, hearing that voice brought me so much joy and inspiration for most of my life. I am so sorry, my friend. I didn't know you were so sad. The world will be different now without you. I'm gonna miss you. Michael |

... Barry, On behalf of all of my friends, we are very sad to hear the news about Brad. You guys, (the band) have been, inspirational, motivational and technologically changed the face of rock music from what it was once known. Upon hearing Boston's first album, I was inspired to learn how to play the drums. Thirty-One years later, I am still playing and I am very proud of what I have accomplished and all of the people I have influenced and/or motivated. I had the pleasure of seeing you guys on August 19, 1978 at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac Michigan. If you recall, it was the same day as the release of Boston 2. I listened to my new 8-track all day, then my dad dropped me off at the show. I must say it was quite an experience for a 15 year old from Cincinnati to go to a rock concert out of state and all alone. By the way, there were 36,616 people at that show (using only half of the arena). I remember the number because thats what they showed on the screen as paid attendance right before Sammy Hagar took the stage. Eddie Money was there also... I was awe struck when you guys hit the stage... maybe you guys were nervous... so was I ... but the band delivered an unforgetable performance that I remember so very vividly to this day. Barry, In closing, I would like to express my dearest sympathy to Brad's family, band and friends. He was a true pioneer and could hit the notes with style and grace that may never be heard from again. God speed Brad your voice will remain present on my stereo and on the air-waves. Thank You Ed Kramer |

... I am shocked on the passing of Brad. Rock "n" roll has truly lost a pioneer and legend. How awesome can one person be that his life has such a profound effect on so many millions of people. His voice combined with the incredible talents of Tom and the rest of the band will live on forever. Boston created a love of rock "n" roll for me over 25 years ago with its power chords, awesome vocals, and unforgettable lyrics. Luckily I was able to experience the band (again) two summers ago in Southern California. The first show was a 5th row seat and the second show only days later was in the 1st row. I remember Brad nodding at me several times and ackowledging my air drums and my lip syncing. What a musician! What a humanitarian. What a loss! Sleep well Brad and may there plenty of singing in heaven, perhaps, you can teach the angels a thing or two! God bless his family and friends! |

The music picks me up when I am down and depressed, which unfortunately has been a big part of my life. Boston music gets me going and picks me up out of my depression. Brad Delp gave me that along with the other members of the band. Mr. Goudreau, did Mr. Delp not know how much he was loved and what a positive influence he was on millions of people? |

Brightens my days and revs me up. More than a Feeling gives me such a rush when I listen to it. Boston is a part of my life. Always will be I think. A world that is so closely knit with the common fabric of our lives were only made closer by the threads of music; such gloriously played by Boston, bringing us together in unity. The main voice of the band providing his feeling that filled our lives with colors of a spectrum he could provide. Life has been so greatly enriched by having his voice echo in my mind for thirty years....perhaps Boston are the people that I am closest to in my time. |

I saw Boston a few years ago at the PNC Banks Art Center in NJ and they were amazing. Brad could still hit all those high notes. I was in the second row...it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Rest in peace, Brad Delp, with the angels and may you sing among them forever. |

... My condolences to the Delp family and friends intheir time of sorrow. My condolences also to many people who were touched by Brad's music. My brother got me into Boston when i was just starting high school and I have been hooked ever since. I got to see Boston play during the Third Stage tour and I still remember it as one of the highlights of my life. I am shocked about this. I feel like I have lost a great friend, someone who was there for me when I needed him. That's the beauty of music though. Brad will always be there for me when I need him. In my years of bartending I always bugged the bands that came in to play anything by Boston to no avail. The singers almost always said it was too hard for them because Brad Delp had such a distinctive voice, that he made the songs his own and they felt they couldn't do them justice. I am sorry you were hurting.Have peace of mind Brad. Godspeed. |

... Mr. Goudreau, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear what happened to Brad. I only got to see Boston one time at the E-Center in Camden New Jersey back in 1996. I am so glad that I did. It was a great show. One of my best friends committed suicide almost 11 years ago. It was very tough for me to understand. He left behind a wife and a son. My friends and I tried to help him and we were unable to. I wish you the best in dealing with this tragedy. I deal with my friend's suicide by remembering the good times that we had. I know he didn't mean to do it. He just wasn,t feeling well. It is amazing how certain people you become friends with can have such an impact on your life. My friend was a physician who was very successful. He inspired me to become an x-ray technologist and now I am a teacher in a medical radiography program in New Jersey. I owe my success in life to my friend Jim. I wish that I could of met Brad because I loved Boston. My first CD I ever bought was Boston,s first album. That album is a masterpiece. It is beatiful. Everytime I hear a Boston song it always takes me back to when I was 21 years old and didn't have a care in the world. Brad was the best. Take care, Jeff |

... That was a beautiful tribute written by Tom Scholtz (for the Rolling Stone). I met Tom and Brad at a "meet & greet" at Polaris Amphitheater in Columbus, Ohio between 1998 and 2000 after a concert. Wonderful people. I told Brad that I realized I had some of the lyrics wrong to a tune that I heard at the concert and he gracefully and diplomatically offered that he had probably "mumbled" during the recording -- I don't think so! I just had not paid enough attention, I guess. Also, I wrote a note on the banner in the room, "Boston -- an argument for cloning!" I don't believe in cloning, but I sure love the great tunes that emerged from Tom, Brad and the other musicians. You are on track Tom with the emphasis on the value of character; it trumps technical abilities and many other parts of our lives. Your character and music add value to our journey. Please continue with your music. -- Valerie (Saint Augustine, FL) |

... I want to start by sending our thoughts and prayers to you and your family for your tremendous loss. My husband and I have been huge BOSTON fans since 1976, and am proud to tell you that our love for your music has passed on to our son! Spencer is a wonderful 7 year old boy (we adopted him from Bulgaria in 2001 when he was 2) with a true love for the music of BOSTON, specifically the magical voice of Brad Delp. He often speaks of Brad as a close friend or relative! On the evening of March 9th, my husband, Spencer and I were dining at a restaurant with a juke box. Spencer was elated to see BOSTON on the juke box and immediately put $1 to play 2 BOSTON songs. About 15 minutes after his selections played, a group of teenagers played 3 or 4 songs of their choice (mainly Country - yuk!). Once one of their songs ended, the strangest things happened...BOSTON songs began playing again and the teenagers were wondering what was going on since they had not chosen that music! It wasn't until the next day that we learned the tragic news of Brad's passing. It is as if we received a special sign/treat from heaven with the mysterious playing of BOSTON. It is very important to me to make someone aware of the happiness BOSTON and Brad Delp has brought to our family. Frankly, it surprises me a little at the deep sadness we feel for someone we never even knew. He MUST have been special to touch us in that way! Thank you for being in our lives! ... I saw Boston in concert back in the late '80's, it was their first date of the tour. For years I would say that I thought I was listening to the CD, not a concert. It took many years to realize that what I had heard was much like watching a perfect game, you don't notice the greatness while it's happening, at least not at first. Boston was so on, that it was like no other concert that I have ever been too before or since. What a shame that the world has lost such a beautiful voice, and so sad his friends and family lost what would seem to be such a nice person. |

... I remember the Friday night I first heard Boston. I was in the 7th grade, spending the night with my best friend, and she had just gotten the tape. We knew all the lyrics to all the songs by the next day. It was probably my first passionate obsession with a band and its music. As soon as "Don't Look Back" hit the stores, I had it in my tape player, cruising with all the other high schoolers. I waited, impatiently, for "Third Stage" for years. I was beside myself with anticipation. By then, I was married and living in Dallas. I finally got to see Boston live at the Cotton Bowl in 1986. Dream come true. Brad, you have influenced my life and provided the soundtrack to my youth. Your talents are from God and I just hope and pray that God has allowed you to join his heavenly choir. I hope you are now at peace and I hope you know how much you were loved and how many people's lives you have impacted. To the family, my condolences and deepest sympathy. |

... I grew up in southern Ontario, I was 14 when Boston came out with their first album, It was to be the soundtrack of my teenage life. Eventually i became a musician and moved out here to Vancouver BC, Canada. I was here for about three weeks when Boston Played the coluseum in Vancouver. I will always remember Delp's first words; "Hello Vancouver, We have to do this more often!" Oh My God the sorrow i feel today. I have retired from the music scene for several years, divorced two years ago and suffering from depression, and sadly considering suicide, while i live in my beautiful house alone. I can empathize with the man on great sorrow, even when your family and friends think you have it made. Life is not like that. I cried a river this morning when i heard the news. I am about to call all of my friends and remind myself how precious Life is. Brad gave me a soundtrack to growing up and coming of age,...I will find strength in that and the joy of his voice, God help us all. |

... First of all I would like to offer my condolences to the Family of Mr. Brad Delp. I know that his family, friend, fans and Band Members will miss his wonderful presence in their lives. But I am sure his is now at peace and in a far better place than those he left behind. I was introduced to the band Boston in 1973. I got my first recording on 8 Track tape. I received this tape while I was sick with Double Lung pneumonia at age 12. My dad had asked me if there was anything he could get me while I was confined to bed for weeks. I said, "I heard about this new band and heard the song "More Than a Feeling" on the radio and asked him if he would get me an 8 track tape of the album. During the next few weeks I played that 8 track tape over and over and memorized every song. That was it. I was hooked on Brad Delp's vocals and Tom Scholz's incredible guitar playing. I continued my recovery during that time and I credit listening to that album for helping bringing me back to good health. Since then I have bought every album the second I could get my hands on it, and went to every concert tour when they played in my home town. I've turned on countless individuals to their music, who like me became true die hard fans of the band. I will refuse to listen to anyone who thinks that Boston was a band for an ERA filled with bad times like Watergate, the Oil Crisis and the Hostage Crisis. These individuals and you know who you are, should be thankful that a band like Boston emerged out of that ERA and created some of the best Rock-n-Roll the world will ever know. Also, I hope everyone does not speculate why Brad did what he did. First of all it is none of our business, although we are left with the question Why? Second of all when a tragedy like this occurs it is the privacy of the family to know and any media who writes, speculates or rumors about it is just being irresponsible. Lastly, to his daughter Jenna, his son Michael, and his fiance, Pamela Sullivan. I grieve with you during this tragic time where the world has lost a great Human Being. I will be praying for all of you. I am sure that Brad would not want you to be sad for long. Celebrate his life and his great achievements. Hold his memory close to your hearts and remember the good times you had the privilege to share with him. He may be physically gone from this world, but his spirit will live on forever. When you close your eyes think about him up on stage performing in front of his many world-wide fans. I believe that gave him more pleasure than anything. As for me I will continue to remember him as a great rock-n-roller. If I close my eyes right now I can see him vividly, and I can even hear him singing. BOSTON Forever!!!! Sincerely, Evan S. Antonoff |
