... maybe because of the tragic circumstances the members of the original Boston lineup should forget about personal grievances and real or perceived injustices..Boston "Boston"is the greatest rock album of a generation and one of the greatest of all time.."More Than a Feeling " is the best song I've ever heard..in lite of whats happened its time for the others to make ammends get their shit together get back together and do the right thing for the memory of Brad Delp and fans like myself who really do care..it should be done somewhere in the not too distant future and the surviving members owe it to us the fans and Brad himself...the infighting and utter B.S. certainly couldn't have helped him.."Tom..Sib..Barry..Fran..its time for you guys to grow up..forgive each other and yourselves..find the monster singer... Freddy Cerci ex of the Canadian 80's outfit Sheriff (When I'm With You)is your man.. so my friends ...do it..and when all you fans out there read this turn up the heat on these guys too.. ... Through his music, Brad shared his sadness and his pain, his triumphs and his dreams. He touched us all as he sang. If it was in sadness, we empathized, and if it was joy, we cheered for him. I didn't know him by name, but when I realized who it was that ended his own life, I cried. I lit candles in his name, and played the "Rock and Roll Band" CD in tribute to him. When "Hitch A Ride" came up, my favorite song suddenly became the saddest as he was "carried away for the last time." It seems it's always the nicest people who suffer the most. They just cannot seem to cope with the world as it is, and their place within it. Jesus tried to make us understand that the only thing He ever wanted for us is LOVE. The superficial things that we are made to feel are so important, are not. You were ALWAYS loved, Brad. And you will ALWAYS be. And Now your Heavenly Father will behold you and tell you so. |

... This is a truely sad time. I just logged onto the bands site and for the first time I saw that Brad had passed. My first thought was, "Oh my god". I would like to extend my wishes, thoughts and prayers for his family, friends and fans that his incredible talents have touched. From the time I could hear practically I was immersed in music and had a great appreciation for it. I fell in love with the music and lyrics when I was able at the age of 4 to go see Boston in concert. I was hooked. From that day on, I have bought, copied and re copied my albums. I have all my original vinyl and in later days Cd's that will be passed down because everyone should hear his voice for yeras to come. I have only been to 9 concerts in my life and 4 were Boston shows. I could always rely on (and still will) his voice and the entire band to lift my spirits on days when I have not felt the greatest or have been down in the dumps. I remember signing(not even close to as gracefully Brad sang it of course) 'Amanda' to a my girlfriend. So many great memories. Thanks so much Brad, Tom, Barry, Fran. What a tragic loss this is. This sums it up..... "We've just lost the nicest guy in rock and roll." I don't think anyone else could have said it better. God Speed Brad Rest In Peace. ou'll always live on in my heart and Thank you. God Speed and Rest in Peace Brad |

... My condolences to his family. Brad had such a beautiful voice. I love Boston. I've listened to them in my twenties till now in my forties. I love all of their songs. Just last week, 3/9/07, I was celebrating my son's 11th birthday and found out the next day that the beautiful voice of Boston is gone. Thank you for the great music Brad. May you rest in peace. ... I wanted to share with you my Boston experience. I have only been to four concerts in my life, two of them being Boston. My husband "John" is a longtime fan and he had heard that Boston was going to be in Charlotte NC and Raliegh NC.We had planned on going to Charlotte, just alittle closer, I then made the best mistake in ordering tickets for the first time. I got them for Raliegh, not knowing what I was doing and ended up in the fourth role toward the right. We were simi-alone.I had just went threw minor surgery on my liver,I could tell during the night my liver was there. Just stunned by the stage set up listening to the music,Brad must have been resting his voice, all of the sudden Brad had jumped out from back stage and gave us a smile and a wave. You think it couldn't have been better till we went to Danville Va, an outside arena. We had noticed the buses outside the fence and I wanted to see them , a few more people came up. We were talking about how great it would be able to travel. We noticed a man walking toward us and would you know it, there's Brad, He had his finger across his mouth letting us know not to scream, something I was good at. He just starts taking and signing autograhs.By the time he reached us,he had to leave.Tho we didn't get an autogragh the experience of just standing feet away from him was more than enough. The news of Brads death has brought alot of tears for John and I as well as everyone who loves Boston. The memories tho will last a lifetime.Thank You Boston for being the band you are and for touching so many lives. We'll love you forever! |

... After reading the specifics of his suicide this morning my first word was "shit". It has to be a lonely and hollow way to go. But nobody can be blamed. I've seen it before, and the fact is if this is what somebody truly wants they will do it. It's alot tougher to deal with someones death when there are circumstances like these. It's such a damn shame he didn't ask for help. He will be dearly missed. my condolences to his family as well as his legions of fans. He had a wonderous voice and was a wonderous person. |

... The outpouring of love from the many fans and friends of Brad is encouraging, but it underscores how perplexed we feel when someone we love takes their own life. We wonder that Brad had a loving family, friends, fiance and bandmates, not to mention the millions of fans who adored him and his talent. Couldn't he feel our admiration, love, respect? Well, I had a very talented brother who squandered his own life with a drug overdose, and I came to the realization that although we all loved Dave, he didn't feel that love. He couldn't believe he was worthy. Perhaps it was like that for Brad. The loved ones, fans and friends left behind may try to figure out what they could have done, and the truth of the matter is that they could have done nothing. We are left with our loss and sorrow and millions of questions. We can't torture ourselves. We can only resolve to remember the great times and celebrate his life. We can resolve to encourage those in our personal realm to get professional help if they are suffering mental health issues. We can resolve to love more truly, care more actively, take our friendships more seriously, nuture those in our lives and take joy in the time we have together, no matter how long or short. Peace to you Brad, rest gently. Denise |

... As a life long fan of Boston, I'm truly sad to know that Brad will no longer be a part of the band; physically....not spiritually. As an admirer of his voice, I will miss hearing that great voice of his at their concerts or new music, that might have been. It is truly tragic that he felt so strontly that he no longer wanted to be a part of this life, even though he has so many that love him; depression is truly a powerful thing. My heart goes out to those closest to him; I only wish that I could have had the privelage of knowing him. Boston with it's unique sound, together with Brad and his distinguishable yet incredible voice, will not be forgotten; after all...who could forget a legend. Sincerely, Dave |

... I am in shock that this man did what he did. There had to be some inkling as to what he was feeling. I just cannot believe he committed suicide. I put his voice up there in the top 5 of rock n roll. Amazing control who could hit high notes in his day. To the family of Brad, I am deeply sorry you will have to endure this for as long as you live. I understand depression is a serious thing, but it can be helped. I don't understand how he could not be helped. Maybe I have a bit to learn. I mean, nobody could help him? And he was getting married and touring and still no one could help? No one??? Where was his fiance? Friends? Family? Did they know he was suicidal? Jeez. I don't believe in suicide. I believe it is as selfish an act, as it gets. I believe there is a way to help. It may take time, but it's better than the damn alternative. |

... Mr. Cosmo, I've written/posted more than once already regarding this great tragedy. Because of Mr. Delp and Boston, this 48 year old can turn 18 in a flash, all with the insert of a CD or a play on FM. Yessir, Boston above all the music that is part of the soundtrack of my life can remove the years and the age and make my heart feel young again. God gifted Brad Delp with the voice that we were meant to hear as part of that music. I won't go into a sermon about how I believe God uses things outside of a churchy setting to move us and influence our lives but I do believe He intends to have great joy in living our lives here on earth. Brad Delp spread more than his fair share by sharing his heart and his talent with all of us. God bless his family and all of you bandmates, I am feeling a big loss and can only imagine how much you all are hurting over this. Pls continue in your musical endeavors. I hope one day we can hear some tribute music of some kind so we can continue to celebrate and remember fondly the life of Brad Delp. |

I was driving in my car listening to my classic rock radio when I heard a block of Boston when I heard "A Man I'll Never Be", I was so excited as I hadn't heard the song on the radio for ahwile, it was one of my favorites. Then I heard the news and I just couldn't believe it. I have loved Boston since I was thirteen and bought the first album. I have so many memories of these songs and Brad was certainly one of the greatest singers of our time. I just loved his voice. I am so thankful that I had the chance to see Boston in concert. I hope you will all find peace and I pray that Brad has also. I am so sorry that this has happened. He will be missed so much. |

... Barry, On behalf of all of my friends, we are very sad to hear the news about Brad. You guys, (the band) have been, inspirational, motivational and technologically changed the face of rock music from what it was once known. Upon hearing Boston's first album, I was inspired to learn how to play the drums. Thirty-One years later, I am still playing and I am very proud of what I have accomplished and all of the people I have influenced and/or motivated. I had the pleasure of seeing you guys on August 19, 1978 at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac Michigan. If you recall, it was the same day as the release of Boston 2. I listened to my new 8-track all day, then my dad dropped me off at the show. I must say it was quite an experience for a 15 year old from Cincinnati to go to a rock concert out of state and all alone. By the way, there were 36,616 people at that show (using only half of the arena). I remember the number because thats what they showed on the screen as paid attendance right before Sammy Hagar took the stage. Eddie Money was there also... I was awe struck when you guys hit the stage... maybe you guys were nervous... so was I ... but the band delivered an unforgetable performance that I remember so very vividly to this day. Barry, In closing, I would like to express my dearest sympathy to Brad's family, band and friends. He was a true pioneer and could hit the notes with style and grace that may never be heard from again. God speed Brad your voice will remain present on my stereo and on the air-waves. Thank You Ed Kramer |

... I am shocked on the passing of Brad. Rock "n" roll has truly lost a pioneer and legend. How awesome can one person be that his life has such a profound effect on so many millions of people. His voice combined with the incredible talents of Tom and the rest of the band will live on forever. Boston created a love of rock "n" roll for me over 25 years ago with its power chords, awesome vocals, and unforgettable lyrics. Luckily I was able to experience the band (again) two summers ago in Southern California. The first show was a 5th row seat and the second show only days later was in the 1st row. I remember Brad nodding at me several times and ackowledging my air drums and my lip syncing. What a musician! What a humanitarian. What a loss! Sleep well Brad and may there plenty of singing in heaven, perhaps, you can teach the angels a thing or two! God bless his family and friends! |

My brother got me into Boston when i was just starting high school and I have been hooked ever since. I got to see Boston play during the Third Stage tour and I still remember it as one of the highlights of my life. I am shocked about this. I feel like I have lost a great friend, someone who was there for me when I needed him. That's the beauty of music though. Brad will always be there for me when I need him. In my years of bartending I always bugged the bands that came in to play anything by Boston to no avail. The singers almost always said it was too hard for them because Brad Delp had such a distinctive voice, that he made the songs his own and they felt they couldn't do them justice. I am sorry you were hurting.Have peace of mind Brad. Godspeed. |

... Mr. Goudreau, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear what happened to Brad. I only got to see Boston one time at the E-Center in Camden New Jersey back in 1996. I am so glad that I did. It was a great show. One of my best friends committed suicide almost 11 years ago. It was very tough for me to understand. He left behind a wife and a son. My friends and I tried to help him and we were unable to. I wish you the best in dealing with this tragedy. I deal with my friend's suicide by remembering the good times that we had. I know he didn't mean to do it. He just wasn,t feeling well. It is amazing how certain people you become friends with can have such an impact on your life. My friend was a physician who was very successful. He inspired me to become an x-ray technologist and now I am a teacher in a medical radiography program in New Jersey. I owe my success in life to my friend Jim. I wish that I could of met Brad because I loved Boston. My first CD I ever bought was Boston,s first album. That album is a masterpiece. It is beatiful. Everytime I hear a Boston song it always takes me back to when I was 21 years old and didn't have a care in the world. Brad was the best. Take care, Jeff |

... That was a beautiful tribute written by Tom Scholtz (for the Rolling Stone). I met Tom and Brad at a "meet & greet" at Polaris Amphitheater in Columbus, Ohio between 1998 and 2000 after a concert. Wonderful people. I told Brad that I realized I had some of the lyrics wrong to a tune that I heard at the concert and he gracefully and diplomatically offered that he had probably "mumbled" during the recording -- I don't think so! I just had not paid enough attention, I guess. Also, I wrote a note on the banner in the room, "Boston -- an argument for cloning!" I don't believe in cloning, but I sure love the great tunes that emerged from Tom, Brad and the other musicians. You are on track Tom with the emphasis on the value of character; it trumps technical abilities and many other parts of our lives. Your character and music add value to our journey. Please continue with your music. -- Valerie (Saint Augustine, FL) |

... I want to start by sending our thoughts and prayers to you and your family for your tremendous loss. My husband and I have been huge BOSTON fans since 1976, and am proud to tell you that our love for your music has passed on to our son! Spencer is a wonderful 7 year old boy (we adopted him from Bulgaria in 2001 when he was 2) with a true love for the music of BOSTON, specifically the magical voice of Brad Delp. He often speaks of Brad as a close friend or relative! On the evening of March 9th, my husband, Spencer and I were dining at a restaurant with a juke box. Spencer was elated to see BOSTON on the juke box and immediately put $1 to play 2 BOSTON songs. About 15 minutes after his selections played, a group of teenagers played 3 or 4 songs of their choice (mainly Country - yuk!). Once one of their songs ended, the strangest things happened...BOSTON songs began playing again and the teenagers were wondering what was going on since they had not chosen that music! It wasn't until the next day that we learned the tragic news of Brad's passing. It is as if we received a special sign/treat from heaven with the mysterious playing of BOSTON. It is very important to me to make someone aware of the happiness BOSTON and Brad Delp has brought to our family. Frankly, it surprises me a little at the deep sadness we feel for someone we never even knew. He MUST have been special to touch us in that way! Thank you for being in our lives! ... I saw Boston in concert back in the late '80's, it was their first date of the tour. For years I would say that I thought I was listening to the CD, not a concert. It took many years to realize that what I had heard was much like watching a perfect game, you don't notice the greatness while it's happening, at least not at first. Boston was so on, that it was like no other concert that I have ever been too before or since. What a shame that the world has lost such a beautiful voice, and so sad his friends and family lost what would seem to be such a nice person. |
