The Boston Globe

By Carol Beggy & Mark Shanahan, 1/6/2004

HAZARDOUS LANDING Tom Scholz, the leader of the band Boston, was safe after a single-engine plane he was piloting made an emergency landing late Sunday at an airport near Lexington, Ky., as he was traveling from Arizona to Massachusetts. The plane had lost half its power 26 miles from Lexington. "He is a pretty accomplished pilot, but it was overwhelming when the fire truck and police cars met his plane," said a Scholz spokeswoman, Gail Parenteau. Boston is playing the National Anthem at the Patriots game Saturday in Foxborough.
