The city of Boston has designated Nov. 13 as Doug Flutie Day to honor the football icon's contribution to the community, which has earned him the 2006 Red, White & Blue Award.

The award, to be announced today, will be presented to Flutie at a Nov. 13 concert to benefit the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism. The Symphony Hall concert will feature Keith Lockhart and the rock band Boston.

The landscape resembled a deep sea feeding frenzy, with an array of genres and bands jockeying for the public’s attention and disposable income. Retro-Active correspondent Ken Sharp spoke to Boston mastermind Tom Scholz about newly released reissues of the group's seminal first two releases -- Boston and Don't Look Back (Sony/Legacy).

Thirty years ago, Tom Scholz redefined feel-good rock 'n' roll. The  positive vibe did not extend to the members of his band, who've spent the decades since spinning more lawsuits than hits.

Boston magazine has published an article about Tom Scholz in the current issue. At the end of the article there is a mention of Tom & Barry reconnecting after 20 years. We have confirmed this from a very reliable source.

What the Deuce IS UP With Boston?

     My apologies to you all for the unintentional silence about Boston activities and plans, especially concerning a reissue of the first two Boston albums. Oddly enough I was just beginning a letter like this, when that topic jumped onto my computer, forcing me to drop everything, including communicating with all of you.

     So now you know I do see postings on these sites!  Not all of them, but enough to know your collective feelings about Boston, and btw, thank you.
